HABA Cuddling Ball Review

When I saw this on Amazon I thought it would be the perfect toy for my 5 month old.I was so disappointed when it arrived.
It's called the "Cuddling Ball" but there is nothing cuddly about it.It feels rough to the touch, is very hard (it does hurt if you get hit with it) and it is very heavy.My son got very excited when he saw it but as soon as he picked it up to try and play with it he stopped smiling and threw it away.I've tried to entice him to play with it since but he does NOT like it and I can't say I blame him.
While the end pieces (the blue flower and strawberry grabbers) are bright and interesting looking they are very hard to move around and so big that they don't twist or pull or do anything much to interest a baby past looking at it.The little stings that poke out of the holes also are so small in comparison to the rest of the ball they don't interest a baby either.If there were more stings, larger holes for exploratory fingers, if the ball was actually soft it would be a great toy but as it is I'm sorry I wasted money on it.
