Ball Track Construction Kit Review

The quality of this ball track is exceptional. The blocks are very heavy and beautiful. It requires a smooth, level surface (carpet, even very low pile, doesn't really work). You can construct it any way you wish, although I have had a little difficulty with making turns. This little glitch doesn't bother my kids [ages 6 (girl) and 3 (boy)] - they just blow the marble through when it gets stuck in the corner piece. You have to adjust it pretty frequently, as when the blocks get out of alignment it doesn't work (sometimes the marble gets stuck, other times it flies off the track). This is a minor issue for us, but may bother some. We just adjust it and carry on. Honestly, given that it is a wooden block building set, we expected this to be part of the process (ever try to keep an intricate wooden block tower perfectly square?). Even though the pieces are heavy, as the marbles travel the blocks will slide a bit over each other. We also purchased the Extra Blocks for Marble Run set (highly recommended, especially if you do not have any other unit blocks) and the Games for Ball Track (especially highly recommended - my kids LOVE this - it adds a whole new dimension of fun to the ball track). We look forward to adding more pieces to this, which is part of the fun of it (I would especially like to add the Haba extra-large starter building block set - once you see the brochure that comes with the marble run, you will understand...).My kids have played with it a bit on their own as well - they create block towers or simple ball tracks (sometimes using nothing but 2 of the ramps) to race the marbles down or for playing the ball track games. My 6-year old said it was "the funnest marble run ever". FYI: we received another ball track (plastic) as a gift. It is still fun, but very limited compared to the Haba track, and still requires parent help in setting it up. The plus side of the plastic one is that once it is set up, it tends to stay together and need very little adjusting. I expect the Haba ball track to remain in use for several years, while the plastic one will likely be broken and/or forgotten within a year.

Marble Set for 1136 - by HABA Review

I use these marbles as a reinforcement system for my kids. The more "good choices" they make, the more marbles they collect. Then when the marble jar is empty and all are in the box, they all get to have a special day. The enjoy picking the different, unique kinds of marbles, wood, work, metal, glass etc. Happy with purchase.

Cuboro Standard Review

This is the most innovative, well designed, environmentally/durable made building toy I have seen with an exception to Kapla. The swiss makers have put a lot of thought and energy into this and it shows. I got it for my 4 year old (still a little young for it) for xmas, and I was totally pleased. Unlike other marble runs, which are much less expensive, this one challenges the child with the most possibilities both in the interchangeable nature of the uniform block pieces, but also in that large portions of a run can be in the form of tunnels which are out of sight of the child. All other marble runs have the marble in plain view, which works more like a race track than a puzzle or system which Cuboro excels at. That said, if you are a parent trying to offer marble runs as an alternative to playing with matchbox car tracks--cuboro might disappoint.

This game made me think about the needed changes in schooling put forth by an an expert on learning. Cuboro is all about tinkering:

Games for Ball Track 1136 - by HABA Review

My kids (6 and 3) love this. They can play with this alone or in conjunction with the Haba ball track (also great). It is definitely recommended if you have the Haba ball track - it adds a whole new dimension of fun. If your kids like the ball track and like games, get this.Makes for great family fun when we can all play together, and great fun for them on their own when we can't help with the ball track. Comes with several types of games (4 or 5, I think) you can play - my kids especially like the bowling-type game and the numbered arches (whichever one the ball rolls through is how many points you get). We love it, and the quality is fantastic (Haba makes the nicest wooden blocks I have ever seen).

We bought this toy for our twins for Christmas and they LOVE it!The colorful circles spin as the clown is pulled and they can also be removed so the kids can chew them or roll them around.Besides being a beautiful toy that will grow with our children, it is exceptionally well made.The paint doesnt come off, the pieces are well joined and the pull string is thick and sturdy.my girls are 10 months and they already know how to pull it while crawling (of course the string is tied shorter for safety)I have other HABA toys and they are simply a wonderful toy company!

Haba Whirlwind Ball Track Accessory Set Review

The HABA Ball Track set is fabulous and I recommend it highly but of all the add-on's purchased, this was the hardest to set up and adjust. Purchased for a five year old boy, it was way beyond his abilities and was quite a challenge even for an adult. Once set up correctly, one little bump would undo a lot of work and took the fun out of it. However, a challenge can be a good thing and it does teach patience.

Haba Portable Doll Review

My 17 month old daughter and I love this dollhouse.My 4 year old son likes to play with it too.It is very well made and super cute.Everything fits inside.I even manage to squeeze the Lotta and Lilli dolls in there. It is pricey but worth it for such a unique quality item. It is large so don't expect a small child to be able to carry it around. My daughter even sits on the chair made for the dolls. Very cute!

Click-clack ball track by HABA Review

The twin boys I watch (almost 3) love this thing! They sit & play with it for an hour @ a time. The balls do fall off the track sometimes but it's no big deal they just put them back on (99% of the time it is the green ball that has a flat end that falls off, the other two included balls seem to do just fine). It's an expensive toy but we love it & it's nice to hear the wooden rolling noises & bell tinkle rather than sirens or other annoying noises. Glad i bought it!
