Fantasia Review

This would be really great except the magnets don't stick to the wood pieces.We also have the Haba Indian Summer and those magnets stick really well.These slide right off so you end up with a pile of wood shapes that don't stick to the magnet board.Also, while the other Haba magnetic arranging games have a thin wood magnetic board, this one is just a piece of cardboard.
UPDATE:I contacted HABA by email and they immediately replied saying they would take care of the problem.They sent me a new set of magnets (which have the 3M logo on the back) and so far they are sticking really well.I am very impressed with their customer service.

Discovery Balls Set of Four Review

I ordered these for my 1 year old daughter who loves balls of all shapes and sizes. She was so thrilled with the balls that came with the rolling turtles from Haba that I thought these balls, while similar, would be even more exciting!

The red ball is simply a wooden ball with 3 silver dots - not anything like the ball that is pictured. The blue one has a clear resin middle that is sort of transparent. The green one makes a faint rattling noise that is rather dull. Perhaps the most exciting one is the yellow which has a yellow-tinted looking glass. However, looking through it, it's difficult to discern anything you're looking at, and so it's not a very functional looking glass - especially for a baby.

If I had it to do over, I would not order these again. My daughter likes them as well as she does the plain balls from the rolling turtles, but unlike the turtles, I don't feel there are things to be discovered as she matures, nor do they seem to have any lasting play value.

A shame. With a little more thought these could have been pretty cool. If they all made a pleasant little sound, perhaps? As they are, they just miss the mark.

We bought this toy for our twins for Christmas and they LOVE it!The colorful circles spin as the clown is pulled and they can also be removed so the kids can chew them or roll them around.Besides being a beautiful toy that will grow with our children, it is exceptionally well made.The paint doesnt come off, the pieces are well joined and the pull string is thick and sturdy.my girls are 10 months and they already know how to pull it while crawling (of course the string is tied shorter for safety)I have other HABA toys and they are simply a wonderful toy company!

Little Garden Pegging Game Review

I purchased the Haba Junior Peg Board at the same time for [...]. I was surprised when they both arrived and were pretty much the same size. The Junior Peg Board was listed for ages 1 1/2 at the time I purchased it, but I still don't let my just turned two year old child play with it unsupervised. It has since been changed to 2 1/2.

As far as the little flower garden, here's my opinion:

Pros:Cute

Cons: Way too expensive for what you get. They should have made it a bit larger. Half the pieces to this toy are choking hazards. I bagged that half up and figure my child can use them when three or older. The holes are small enough on the pieces that they can get stuck easily on little fingers. I keep this toy out of reach and only bring it down for supervised play.

Basically, if your two year old explores by putting things in their mouth occasionally or puts their fingers in holes, this is not the toy for you.It's a toy that I look at and want to kick myself for spending the money on.

Educo Welcome Home Balcony Dollhouse Review

I purchased this dollhouse for my daughter and am exceptionally dissatisfied.I had hoped this would be good quality, non-toxic and fun for her to play with.Within a week to 10 days of playing with this, she developed a burn-like rash on both of her hands.We saw the doctor twice.She was put on daily Benadryl and we had to apply hydrocordisone cream to her hands.The rash did not go away, and continue to get worse until we removed this dollhouse from her playthings.What gives?When the dollhouse arrived, we also discovered that the inner wall was warped.I should have gone with Plan or Ryan's Room.

Click-clack ball track by HABA Review

The twin boys I watch (almost 3) love this thing! They sit & play with it for an hour @ a time. The balls do fall off the track sometimes but it's no big deal they just put them back on (99% of the time it is the green ball that has a flat end that falls off, the other two included balls seem to do just fine). It's an expensive toy but we love it & it's nice to hear the wooden rolling noises & bell tinkle rather than sirens or other annoying noises. Glad i bought it!

Haba Antiquity Architecture Wooden Block Set Review

I purchased several Haba architectural building block sets for my six year old as she loves to build and learn.The blocks are durable, soft with no rough edges (no worries for splinters) and designed very well.I loved building the Colosseum with my six year old.It would be nice if there were pictures from all angles to refer to but nevertheless, we were able to build the set together which was great fun!

Educo Switchback Racetrack Review

I did a lot of research and found that this one was the best one I could find on the market. When I got it I found it to be a very good toy.

It is a much larger size then other ones so your child can really get in to it.
It comes already assembled so you can have fun getting it out of the packaging with your child and create some excitement. Plus much less work for you.
It has two tracks instead of one so you can really encourageand engage your child to play by having races.
It is absolutely great quality, well built and will last.
The tracks are lined up and on the right angle so you don't have to worry about to much flipping off track and traffic jams.
It comes with 4 cars instead of just two. The cars are made specifically for the track and to flip over on it. They are also a decent size not to small or to big.

However it is expensive, and is a toy your child will really want to play with someone, not alone. So these things could be a draw back for some.

Also I looked on line elsewhere, as well as, in some catalogs that I get, and found Amazon to have the best price. Plus if you use standard shipping most retailers will ship it for free on Amazon.

Haba Clown Blocks 41 Piece Review

We bought these for our daughter's first birthday. She enjoys picking them up and putting them down and is attracted to the bright colors. Her favorite use for them at 13 months is to chew on while teething. She's still too young to do much actual "building" with them, but my husband and I enjoy playing with them. They would make an excellent gift for an older child.

These are relatively sturdy high quality wooden blocks. Our Chihuahuas have managed to destroy a few of them, but they appear to be impervious to our daughter's banging and chewing. They appear to be safe and well-made and I have no concerns about letting her play with them. I would purchase them again and have requested that her grandmother buy her a second set for Christmas.

Curioso Fabric Shape Sorter with 8 Discovery Blocks Review

This is a nice toy, and the blocks are fun and interesting.However, I just don't find it to be educational as a shape sorter.The problem is that the sorter is made of cloth and the cutout holes are not very true to shape.The blocks don't fit in with ease.If I had it to do again I would get one of the wooden sorters that Haba makes.

We received this as a gift for our 4 year old, child of an architect, who can almost build this himself.The exceptional quality blocks are perfectly crafted, smooth, with no finish to make them slippery (or toxic).The finished Coliseum looks beautiful, and we love to leave it put together to enjoy, which heightens the educational aspects of learning about and appreciating great works of antiquity.At first we thought there were pieces missing, but it was only that we built is incorrectly; there's a subtle design aspect that may be missed on the first try, as there are no instructions.Unlike with many toys, we've never had a piece missing in a HABA set or game. Part of the challenge, although simple enough, is building the structure with only the aid of the picture on the box and without instructions.Now we have many of these HABA building sets and highly recommend them.The games are of the same high quality.

Baby's First Blocks Review

Our daughter loves these blocks! We started her off using them during dinner time when she was 5 months old. We have her sitting with us at the table. In lieu of food, she has these blocks to play with. (Hopefully working on her grasping skills while she's with the family.) They've held up quite well to all the grabbing, chewing, and throwing off of the table that they've had to go through. We've just started her on solids, so they are now getting washed with every meal and are holding up very well. Like all of the Haba toys we've purchased, these are quality products and I can see they will last for years to come.

Another nice side perk to these blocks is that they match other lines of Haba blocks, so they blend right in with the other sets.
