Pumpkin Review

This pumpkin is the same size as the Plan Toys pumpkin but much more vibrant in color.I wish the pumpkin had a rounder appearance but this does not take away from its appearance, simply my person preference.It is one of the larger Haba fruits so this one is not a choking hazard and is wonderful to add to either your Haba or Plan Toys wooden foods.Either way your child will be pleased!

Educo Rainbow Bead Abacus Review

This is a very well-made, substantial toy. I don't know how educational it will be for my niece, but at least she gets to play with the pretty colors and move the beads around. (After all, who really knows how to use an abacus besides the Chinese?) If this were to be an educational toy, someone would have to sit with the child and actively instruct, I think. At any rate, it's a very nice toy and I don't begrudge the money I spent on it.

Lemon Review

The pic shows (3) lemons -- you get one -- I figured as much.Got this because the child lacked a lemon in their play fruit repertoire.There is not much to say as I'm not a connoisseur of wooden lemons but I'm sure there are much better out there.

I'd imagine the perfect wooden lemon would be:
1. Life size -- this isn't. Ordinary lemons aren't big but this is the size of a golf ball.
2. Textured surface -- real lemons have a smooth yet heavily dimpled surface. This lemon is smooth wood.

On the plus side -- the lemon is not made of plastic (God forbid!) and it is not made in China.

If in the future I need to purchase another wooden lemon, I would buy the perfect wooden lemon and not this one.

Green Pepper Review

This pepper is a wonderful sized pepper and the red is brilliant with a nice glow.Definately one of my child's favorites.We need to get the green pepper as well.These are very pleasing to look at.This pepper is larger than the Plan Toys peppers although those are equally nice.Plan Toys peppers are more blocky like the grocery store variety.Your child will be pleased with this pepper.It is a nice addition if your child pretends to sell or shop at the farmers market.

Potato Review

If you order this item as I did, you will receive one potato--not three.I didn't expect an entire sack full for less than two dollars, but did expect to receive three as advertised in the photo!The potato itself is about 2" long, so won't take up much space in your child's limited kitchen storage space.

Walker Wagon Review

This is a wonderful walker for very young children as it is heavy enough so the child won't fall down. On the other hand it is difficult to tun, but my daughter doesn't seem to care (almost 11 MO old). She stops and turn it while seating. She loves to bang it on the door (very noisy). The wheels are very silent on the floor. She likes when a cat (or a friend or a stuff animal) seats on it. She puts many things in it (blocks, duplo, ... and goes around). The great thing that I have noticed is that with this walker (contrarily to the plastics one of the playgroups) she stands up straight when she walks. I think she feels secure and she knows that it won't flip over.

Educo Switchback Racetrack Review

I did a lot of research and found that this one was the best one I could find on the market. When I got it I found it to be a very good toy.

It is a much larger size then other ones so your child can really get in to it.
It comes already assembled so you can have fun getting it out of the packaging with your child and create some excitement. Plus much less work for you.
It has two tracks instead of one so you can really encourageand engage your child to play by having races.
It is absolutely great quality, well built and will last.
The tracks are lined up and on the right angle so you don't have to worry about to much flipping off track and traffic jams.
It comes with 4 cars instead of just two. The cars are made specifically for the track and to flip over on it. They are also a decent size not to small or to big.

However it is expensive, and is a toy your child will really want to play with someone, not alone. So these things could be a draw back for some.

Also I looked on line elsewhere, as well as, in some catalogs that I get, and found Amazon to have the best price. Plus if you use standard shipping most retailers will ship it for free on Amazon.

We original bought for our activity 9 month old! But it has turned into a favorite for his five year old sister! Our nine month cries if we try to pull him out of the seat! Curioso Fabric Shape Sorter with 8 Discovery Blocks Review

This is a nice toy, and the blocks are fun and interesting.However, I just don't find it to be educational as a shape sorter.The problem is that the sorter is made of cloth and the cutout holes are not very true to shape.The blocks don't fit in with ease.If I had it to do again I would get one of the wooden sorters that Haba makes.

Educo Alphabet Abacus Review

We bought this for 2 different grandchildren and they both love it.It appears to be very durable and easy for 'little' fingers to manipulate.Of course, both sets of parents love the distraction and education it provides.

Haba Rattling Caterpillar Toy Review

My two month old is very intrigued by this toy.If she's fussy, making the discs clap together will distract her.I can't wait until she is older and can make them clap on her own.I like the quality of the wooden toys, and the finish is awesome.I buy this toy for my friends when they have kids!
